Extraordinary low coffee table created by Aldo Tura in Italy in the 1950s, an authentic super piece from the most iconic and sought-after production of the Milanese designer, today unanimously recognized as one of the greatest interpreters of Italian post-war design.

The rectangular top is covered in natural parchment, hand-treated and hand-dyed goatskin, crafted according to the celebrated technique developed by Aldo Tura, which makes every surface unique and unrepeatable.

The warm and layered chromatic tones range from ochre, amber and browns to darker shades, creating a marbled, almost painterly effect of extraordinary visual depth. The surface appears vibrant, marked by irregular tonal variations, natural skin markings and light traces of time, which interact beautifully with light and convey a strongly tactile perception.

The structure is supported by four tapered dark wooden legs, elegantly refined, typical of Tura’s 1950s production, lending momentum, lightness and impeccable formal balance. The proportions are perfectly calibrated: the table is compact yet highly present, capable of defining a space without ever appearing excessive.

This coffee table fully embodies Aldo Tura’s design philosophy, based on radical material research, an almost artistic approach to surfaces, and a vision of furniture as a unique object positioned between design, fine craftsmanship and artwork. Each example of this type should not be considered a serial product, but rather a singular creation with its own visual identity.

The condition is very good, with signs of age consistent with its time and use, fully compatible with original 1950s parchment and to be regarded as added value, as authentic testimony to the historical character of the piece.

An extremely rare and highly collectible coffee table, ideal for high-end interiors, Italian modern design collections, or settings where a piece of strong character, culture and visual presence is desired.
