Extraordinary “Paganini” sofa designed by Luciano Frigerio and produced by Frigerio di Desio in the early 1980s.
This model represents one of the most iconic and recognizable expressions of Frigerio’s production, where design merges with a sophisticated and strongly identity-driven material research.
The project stands out for its rigorous and monumental architecture, where the structure is not merely a support but a true dominant aesthetic element.
The base is made of wood with an extraordinary geometric inlay work, characterized by a composition of different wood essences that create a refined and dynamic visual rhythm. The chromatic variations, ranging from warm and dark tones to lighter and reddish accents, generate a highly impactful graphic effect, typical of Frigerio’s most refined production.
The lines are sharp, almost architectural, with full armrests and important volumes that frame the upholstered seat. The leather cushions, soft and generous, introduce a perfect contrast between structure and comfort, adding a welcoming dimension to an otherwise extremely rigorous design.
The leather is practically new, featuring a warm and natural patina, with slight creases, marks, and variations that testify to its authenticity and use, further enhancing the vintage character of the piece. The condition is very good, with signs consistent with age that do not compromise either the structure or usability, but rather enrich its charm.
The sofa has the particularity that, depending on personal preference, it can be used with or without leather armrests, thus revealing the lateral wood inlay details.
This sofa perfectly embodies Luciano Frigerio’s vision: a cultured, material-driven, and timeless design, capable of dialoguing between art, architecture, and furniture.
An important piece, rare on the market, ideal for collectors and for high-end interiors where it can become the absolute protagonist.

Sold with certificate of authenticity.

Luciano Frigerio, born in Desio in 1928, revolutionized the world of design and furniture production, inheriting the family tradition of high-level cabinetmaking. After graduating in accounting, he developed a passion for furniture design and musical composition. In the 1960s, taking advantage of the entrepreneurial opportunities of the Brianza area, he transformed the family company into an international reality, collaborating with important figures such as Gio Ponti and Franco Albini.
