Overview
The Apollo armchair, designed by Patrick Norguet for Artifort in 2002, represents one of the most significant moments in the transition of the Dutch brand from historical modernism to contemporary design.
Description
With this model, Norguet introduces a formal language that reinterprets Artifort’s organic tradition in a more essential, controlled, and architectural key.
The design stands out for its fluid and continuous silhouette, conceived as a single graphic gesture: a line in space that defines a seat that is both sculptural and ergonomic.
The structure develops through two upholstered volumes that open at the front, creating a dynamic and welcoming form, designed to offer comfort and a strong visual presence.
Design & Function
Apollo was created for contemporary environments, lobbies, executive offices, hospitality spaces, and high-end residences, and is characterized by its ability to engage with space in a 360-degree manner thanks to the central swivel base, an element that contributes both to functionality and to the aesthetic balance of the piece.
Materials & Aesthetic
The structure is made with a rigid internal shell covered in polyurethane foam, fully upholstered and finished in fabric. The base is in metal with a circular plate, a distinctive element of Artifort production.
