Beautiful bar cabinet created in 2020 by Jacques Leo and presented exclusively by JF Gallery.
The cabinet is made of marine-grade plywood veneered with precious vintage wood species in various tones—Rosewood, Walnut, Maple, Burl, Mahogany—which together form a complex linear marquetry design depicting a classical subject characteristic of the artist, who personally executed the entire piece.
The cabinet features a central glass shelf and is completely lined inside with jacquard silk fabric, with an embroidered signature inside the drawer and a wax seal on the back.
The piece is further enhanced by details in 24K pure gold leaf integrated into the decorative patterns, as well as brass elements such as the legs and knobs.
The object was created as a unique piece and represents the first example of the artist’s furniture production, as indicated by the inscription “Furniture N°1” inside the drawer.
Upon request and commission, it is possible to create variants in dimensions and subjects, always conceived as unique pieces and entirely handmade over hundreds of hours.

Jacques Leo is a young emerging Italian artist who has dedicated his life to the world of art since early childhood. He began his artistic journey at the age of three, repeatedly drawing the same subject, gradually enriching it with meaningful details that reflect the discoveries typical of that age. Thanks to the influential presence of his father, this material was collected, photographed, and archived, creating a coherent and linear record of the artist’s creative development.
Throughout his evolution, the figurative element has always remained present in his work, gradually gaining form and vitality through continuous study and personal growth. Philosophy, chemistry, geometry, alchemy, symbolism, and esotericism constitute the complex body of knowledge that clearly emerges from Jacques’s works.
Strongly fascinated by shamanic culture, this theme is the subject encountered in this piece. Observing Jacques’s shamanic figurative subjects, one is immediately enveloped by a sense of ascetic mysticism, capable of transporting the viewer into the complex journey undertaken by the mind during the meditative act.
Another fundamental element in the artist’s practice is the Mandala. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, the term Mandala represents the configuration of space around a “center” or “circle,” expressing in various forms the ancient notion of totality. Mandalas can therefore be defined as geometric representations of varying complexity, intended to involve the entire Universe in the ritual act of prayer.
The presence, within the artist’s works, of materials such as hemp, earth, gold, and textiles strongly characterizes Jacques as an artist who not only possesses deep knowledge of different cultures, but also demonstrates the ability to work directly with matter, transforming it and integrating it seamlessly into both figurative and non-figurative subjects.
Jacques Leo is an artist who has studied extensively, both spiritually and materially. Painting, sculpture, tailoring, woodworking, marble carving, and metalworking are just some of the disciplines with which the artist shows great familiarity. Always ready to experiment with new materials derived from Mother Nature, his goal is to elevate both his material and philosophical knowledge to ever higher levels.
