Extraordinary “Diamante – Scultura 99” table designed by Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio in the 1970s, belonging to the extremely rare limited series composed of only 99 examples.
It is one of the 99 originals produced by the Frigerio atelier, today considered among the most sought-after and representative pieces of the master’s work. The table is sold accompanied by an official certificate issued by the Frigerio heirs, which definitively certifies its provenance and originality.
The sculptural base, made of African Padauk, is composed of an architectural sequence of overlapping modular elements, worked and jointed with absolute precision.
The projecting and recessed parts create a complex geometric rhythm, with an alternation of solids and voids that recalls Brutalist aesthetics and the great tradition of Italian cabinetmaking.
The surfaces, perfectly smoothed and rich in their grain, dialogue with the three-dimensional modulations of the individual slats, transforming the base into a true monolithic sculpture. The upper top, in ground crystal, amplifies the perception of the underlying volume and allows the structure to emerge in all its plastic strength.
Luciano Frigerio, a central figure in postwar Italian design, conceived in the 1960s and 1970s a series of sculpture-furniture pieces in limited editions (Scultura 99) made with noble materials and with a strongly sculptural formal vision.
Among these, the “Diamante” model represents one of his most emblematic and rare creations, a perfect synthesis of monumentality, excellence in craftsmanship, and aesthetic research.
The table is presented in excellent condition and is a work intended for collectors and connoisseurs of high Italian craftsmanship, ideal as the focal point of a dining room, an executive environment, or a contemporary interior that enhances unique and sculptural pieces. An absolute masterpiece of Italian design, whose rarity is accentuated by the fact that only 99 examples exist worldwide.
