A majestic and unrepeatable work by Aldo Tura, this double bed from the 1960s represents one of the highest expressions of the radical and sophisticated aesthetic of the great Milanese designer.
Entirely clad in precious hand-dyed parchment in warm golden honey tones, it asserts itself within the space as a true functional sculpture, conceived to dominate exclusive interiors with a strong architectural character.
The solid and geometric perimeter structure defines a pure, compact rectangle, into which two integrated bedside tables are seamlessly incorporated, suspended and almost invisible in their perfect material continuity. The large flat headboard, also upholstered in parchment with meticulously hand-crafted joints, completes the composition with a sense of rigor and theatricality that recalls monumental architecture.
Parchment, Tura’s favored material, is here treated with exceptional mastery: smoothed, dyed, and polished to achieve a soft, vibrant surface that reflects light in a warm and enveloping way, enhancing the natural chromatic variations and the signs of time, now an integral part of its charm.
Produced in a limited edition, this bed is a masterpiece of decorative cabinetmaking, a rare example of auteur design in which art, craftsmanship, and vision merge into a unique piece of great historical and collectible value, bearing the original TU RA production mark.
Aldo Tura, an eclectic and visionary figure, is today considered one of the most refined Italian masters of the postwar period, whose works are increasingly sought after internationally for their strong identity and pioneering use of unconventional materials.
A museum-worthy icon, destined to enrich the most exclusive interiors.
