This stunning sideboard is a refined example of Italian design from the 1970s–1980s, created by Luigi Saccardo for the company Gasparello. The model, part of the “Seven” line, is distinguished by its soft, sinuous lines and by a perfect balance between elegance and functionality. The protagonist material is bird’s-eye maple burl, finished with a glossy surface that reflects light and highlights the fascinating natural grain of the wood, giving the piece a warm and sophisticated appearance. The structure develops horizontally, with a solid and well-proportioned volume that conveys a strong sense of stability and quality. The doors, fitted with protruding handles, are characterized by circular wooden motifs, a design choice that enhances the purity of the forms and the essential character of the piece. Once opened, they reveal generous internal storage spaces entirely veneered in burl, making the sideboard not only highly decorative but also extremely functional. A striking detail is the rounded curvature of the corners, which softens the geometric rigor of the structure and gives the cabinet a welcoming and refined presence. This is a piece that integrates effortlessly into both modern and vintage interiors, ideal for those seeking furniture that combines artisanal quality with the timeless beauty of Italian design. Overall excellent condition, with only very minor signs of age that add authenticity to the piece, consistent with its nearly 50 years of history. Bibliography: Domus, June 1980, p.43.
