Refined chest of drawers designed by Ennio Fazioli for MIM Roma in the 1960s, a testament to the sober and functional language that characterized the renowned Italian manufacturer during the period of the economic boom.
The piece is made of high-quality rosewood, with warm and deep grain that enhances its timeless elegance, present even inside the drawers, a testament to the exceptional quality of this piece of furniture.
The linear and rigorous design is enriched by nickel-plated steel details, such as the minimal circular handles and the original locks with key, which emphasize the rationalist and modern vocation of the project.
The chest of drawers is composed of ten large drawers arranged in two symmetrical columns, ensuring great functionality and storage capacity.
The structure rises on a solid geometric base in ebony-lacquered wood, which visually lightens the volume of the piece and reinforces its architectural approach.
The internal label bearing the MIM Roma brand confirms the authenticity of the piece.
This chest of drawers represents an exemplary example of MIM production, a company that introduced a new concept of furniture in Italy for executive and domestic environments, combining design, craftsmanship quality and functional research.

MIM Roma, an acronym for Mobili Italiani Moderni, was founded in the Italian capital in 1959 during the period of the economic boom, immediately distinguishing itself as one of the most innovative realities in the contemporary furniture landscape. From the outset, the company set out to combine modern design, craftsmanship quality and advanced industrial production, introducing in Italy a new concept of furniture intended both for domestic environments and, above all, for executive spaces. The MIM style is characterized by a sober and rationalist language, with clean lines, rigorous volumes and functional details, always made with fine materials such as rosewood, mahogany, teak, nickel-plated steel and brass. Particular attention was given to modularity and storage capacity, elements that ensured practical solutions without sacrificing elegance. Over the years, the company collaborated with important designers, including Ennio Fazioli, Ico Parisi, Luigi Pellegrin and, in some projects, Gio Ponti, helping to consolidate a strong and recognizable identity. In the 1960s and 1970s, MIM represented a benchmark for modern Italian furniture, competing with brands such as Olivetti Synthesis and Tecno, and is today highly sought after on the international vintage market. Its creations are considered authentic icons of postwar design, appreciated for the balance between functional rigor, aesthetic refinement and exceptionally high construction quality.
